Murrayfield DAFS 2 win by 106 runs

[/vc_column_text][vc_zigzag][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Murrayfield played hosts to Melrose at fort Roseburn in sunny warm conditions (surprisingly) accompanied by a gentle breeze cutting across the pitch. Murrayfield were to bat first which saw a solid opening before the fall of the first wicket at 44 runs. Enter Roshan who scored a magnificent 55 which could’ve been more if not for a self-inflicted run out. Another 50 was to be hit in this innings with Ravi coming in with some huge hits to score 53 runs before getting out on the last ball (R.I.P red inker). Murrayfield batted the 40 and finished with a score of 205 a rare high score on the Roseburn pitch. Other notable scores were a noodlely 31 for Olly, 23 from Saurabh and 16 from skipper Ram. Melrose also bowled quite admirably contrary to what the score may suggest with some conservative overs from opener Baird with figures of 8 overs 0-12 (including 4 maidens) and Scott 8 overs 2-32.After tea it was time to switch the roles and Melrose were at the crease. Murrayfield got off to a flyer leaving Melrose 20/5 after 13 overs. However, with opener Williams at the crease and Baird back this time with the bat, a partnership began to form which looked to be unbreakable and the momentum changed in favour of Melrose. After a gruelling 15 overs for Murrayfield, it was MOTM Roshan who made the breakthrough bowling Williams for 34 in the 28th over, the 7th wicket followed the same over with Baird departing for 44. Leaving Melrose 95/7 and a mountain to climb. 4 overs later saw the tail of the Melrose collapse and Murrayfield victorious. Pick of the figures for Murrayfield were Tharun 4/29, Josh 1/12 Reddy 1/17 and Roshan 3/19.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
